2 Pakistani men detained with explosives in Nangarhar
PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Two Pakistani citizens have been detained with a huge quantity of explosives in Afghanistan’s eastern province of Nangarhar, an official said on Wednesday.
“Afghan border guards arrested the two men with 9700 kilograms of ammonium nitrate in Torkham border town,” a paramilitary official confided to Pajhwok Afghan News.
The banned fertilizer, which is often used by insurgents in home-made bombs, was seized from a vehicle carrying fresh fruits. The men were allegedly smuggling the explosives to Afghanistan.
Last month, a huge quantity of explosives was recovered from a mosque in the Khewa district of Nangarhar.Security forces defused the explosives aimed to target worshippers.
