Abdullah accepts Saudi King’s visit invitation

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, who accepted an official Saudi Arabia’s invitation to visit the kingdom, on Wednesday said relations between Afghanistaninfo-icon and Saudi Arabia were in the interest of both countries.

A statement from the CEO’s office said Abdullah Abdullah met in Kabul with Saudi’s ambassador to Afghanistan Musfir bin Abdulrahman Ghasib. 

The statement said the meeting discussed Afghanistan’s and the Islamic worldinfo-icon’s situation and challenges the region currently faced.  

Al-Ghasib pledged his country’s continued support to Afghanistan and said Riyadh was interested in expanding cooperation with Afghanistan.

The ambassador also considered stability in Afghanistan in the interest of neighboring countries and the region and said his country would jointly fight terrorism and extremism with Afghanistan.  

The Saudi envoy presented an official invitation letter to Abdullah from King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and the CEO accepted it.

However, the statement did not mention when the CEO would visit Saudi Arabia. The CEO expressed his gratitude to the Saudi government for inviting him to visit the country and assisting Afghanistan.
