Bomber among 6 killed in Nimroz incidents
ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Two police, three Taliban militants and a suicide bomber have been killed in separate incidents in southwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Saturday.
Police chief Brig. Gen. Ghulam Jelani Abubakkar told Pajhwok Afghan News police received information about the presence of a suicide bomber in a house in Zaranj, the provincial capital, and besieged the house last night.
The bomber blew himself up when he tried to escape on a motorcycle and police attempted to stop him.
Separately, three Taliban, including two Pakistanis, and two policemen were killed during a clash in Khashrud district, said Jelani.
A Taliban’s spokesman, Qari Yosuf Ahmadi, confirmed the clash, and said four police including a commander were killed and 13 weapons seized by the fighters.
