Pakistan HBL cricket team arrives in Kabul
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ABC) officials and media representatives welcomed the Pakistani team on arrival in Kabul.
ACB deputy chairman Azizullah Fazli told Pajhwok Afghan News that the two teams would play two Four-Day and four one-day matches at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium.
He called the visiting Pakistani team as a strong side, saying the team included some former Pakistani cricketers.
Afzali hoped after the four-day matches, famous Pakistani players Shahid Afridi, Ahmad Shehzad, Omar Gul and Imran Farhat would arrive in Kabul for the one-day matches.
The official said the matches were aimed at preparing the Afghanistan national side for upcoming matches with Ireland and Scotland.
The Afghanistan team is due to leave for Ireland and Scotland on June 27.
Organizer of the matches between Afghanistan Development Cricket Team and the HBL team, Sher Agha Hamkar, said it was for the first time Afghanistan hosting a foreign team.
He said the matches would send a positive message to the world from Afghanistan and would encourage other countries to send their teams to Afghanistan.
The first four-day match will be played on Tuesday.
The ACB selection committee has named a 14-man squad for the matches against the visiting Pakistani team.
The Afghan side is: Nawroz Mangal, Hamid Hassan, Shahpur Zadran, Javed Ahmadi, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Nasir Jamal, Rahmat Shah, Najib Zadran, Rashid Arman, Afsar Zazi, Farid Ahmad, Abdullah Adil, Syed Sherzad, Zahir Khan and Mohammad Sardar.
