Britain to provide ANDSF $102m a year until 2020
Speaking at the NATO Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Brussels, Hammond confirmed Britain would provide £210 million ($102 million) to sustain its contribution of £70 million a year until 2020.
In a statement from Foreign & Commonwealth Office, the secretary was quoted as saying: “We also look to partners in NATO’s Resolute Support Mission to join us in demonstrating the alliance’s continuing resolve.”
The Warsaw Summit in July would be an important moment for the international community to recommit to supporting Afghanistan’s security and stability, the minister added.
The UK is currently contributing £70 million per year over 2015-2017 to the Law and Order Trust Fund (Afghanistan). The £210 million announced today means that this level of support for the ANDSF will now continue until 2020.
