1,600m afs to be spent on projects in Parwan this year
CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Rural Rehabilitation and Development Minister Nasir Ahmad Durrani on Sunday said 1,600 million afghanis would be spent this solar year on executing development projects in central Parwan province.
Durrani, who inaugurated two irrigation canal projects in Parwan’s Jabal Saraj, said the 1,600 million afghanis would be spent on hundreds of welfare projects in districts and Charikar, the provincial capital.
During the first five months of the current year, more than 28 million afs had been allocated to development project in Jabal Saraj district.
Sixty-nine irrigation canals have been planned in Kabul, Logar and Parwan provinces at a cost of 500 million afs, he said, adding implementation of these projects would considerably develop agriculture in the three provinces.
Parwan Governor Mohammad Asim Asim expressed happiness over the inauguration of the two canals in Jabal Saraj and said some projects earlier executed in Parwan were of low quality.
He hoped the new projects would be effective and standard. He asked Parwan residents to support the government in implementation of the projects.
Officials in Parwan say the two 395 metres irrigation canals in Jabal Saraj cost up to 10 million afs, benefitting 5000 families in Ghazatkhel, Pinjah Khana, Sabzikhel, Gul Mirzakhel, Fatehkhel and dozens of other villages.
