Taliban disown audio message linked to group’s new leader
KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan Taliban have rejected the audio message which was circulated to the media outlets under the name of their new leader Mullah Habtaullah Akhundzada, an international media report said on Wednesday .
In the message the new Afghan Taliban Leader, Mullah Habatullah Akhundzada rejected peace talks as a viable solution to bringing the Afghan insurgency to an end, and have stated that fighting will continue.
The massage was disowned by the group Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, when he was reached by telephone, according to the Reuters.
Mujahid said they were investigating to know who distributed the fake message on the name of the Taliban new leader.
