Work on 2 school buildings launched in Aibak
AIBAK (Pajhwok): Construction work on buildings for two girls high schools was inaugurated in the capital of northern Samangan provincial on Wednesday.
Mohammad Bashir Slahi, provincial deputy education director, told Pajhwok Afghan News the buildings for Zohrabi Girls High School and Fatima Zuhra Girls High School would cost 21 million afs funded by India.
He said the construction works would take six months to complete. At least 1,200 students enrolled in the schools faced problems in the absence of buildings, he said.
Samangan Governor Mohammad Hashim Zare told the inauguration ceremony that the structures had been designed in a way to meet all needs of students. After completion of the buildings, they should be maintained and preserved, he stressed.
Abdul Wadood, planning manager at the provincial education department, said there were 295 schools, seminaries, technical and vocational schools in Aibak and six districts, but only 155 schools had buildings.
