6 bus terminals being constructed in Nangarhar
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation (MTCA) has approved construction of six bus terminals in eastern Nangarhar province and the construction process is expected to be launched soon, officials said on Thursday.
Nangarhar governor’s spokesman Attaullah Khogyani told Pajhwok Afghan News the announcement was made by transport officials during a meeting chaired by Governor Saleem Khan Kunduzi.
Nangarhar transport department head Mohammad Ayub Sharafat told the meeting that the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation had approved funds for the terminals in 1395 solar financial year.
He said four terminals would be constructed in areas falling in Jalalabad City, the provincial capital, and another two terminals in the Torkham Township.
As soon as land for the terminals was placed at their disposal, they would start constructing them and would put them into service.
Kunduzi thanked the ministry for approving the project for Nangarhar and assigned a commission with land acquisition for construction of the proposed terminals and reporting back on the process in next meeting.
Deputy provincial council head, Dr. Lal Mohammad Durrani, also pledged support to the provincial government in constructing the terminals.
