Karzai urges Taliban to join peace process
A statement from Karzai’s office said it was repeatedly proved that the current hardships had been imposed on Afghans who were being sacrificed for the interests of outsiders.
“No human being should enjoy the death of another human being and specially the Afghans should not be happy over the death of another Afghan,” he said, calling on the new leadership of Taliban to join peace process and return to their country for the sake of an honourable life.
Karzai also asked the Afghan government to stop executing death row prisoners because the only way to reach a lasting peace and stability was brotherhood and unity.
