Peace deal with govt not against any Afghan: HIA
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Hezb-i-Islami Afghanistan (HIA), led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, on Monday said its peace agreement with the Afghan government was against no one and was only aimed at ending the current differences in the country.
A statement from the Hekmaytar-led HIA said the party had honestly participated in peace talks with the government in order to rescue the war-affected country and Afghans from the vulnerable situation.
Eng. Mohammad Amin Karim was designated as the HIA delegation head to declare official stance of the HIA regarding peace talks’ outcome, the statement said.
It said people who wanted peace and those wanted war would be exposed soon, but patriots who wanted peace would be the winners against those who wanted war for the interests of others.
“We want friendship with all groups including those who think HIA is a militant wing and doubts the peace process, supports anti-peace elements intentionally or mistakenly. We assure them that the agreement is not against any Afghan, we want peace only to end unlawful differences in the country,” the statement said.
The HIA thanked all Afghans for welcoming the peace talks between the party and the government, the statement said adding intra-Afghans peace dialogue was the only way to resolve the current crises.
In the statement, the HIA asked the people not to be misled by propagandas of some networks because such groups feared peace as against their interest.
