Afghanistan’s highest civilian award conferred on Indian PM
HERAT CITY (Pajhwok); President Ashraf Ghani on Saturday conferred Afghanistan's highest civilian honour, the Amir Amanullah Khan Award, on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi was decorated after the two leaders jointly inaugurated the Afghan-India Friendship Dam, previously known as Salma Dam.
Vikas Swarup, spokesperson for India’s External Affairs Ministry, tweeted: "A true brotherhood honoured. PM is awarded with the Amir Amanullah Khan Award, Afghanistan's highest civilian honour."
