7 Taliban militants killed in Parwan infighting
Parwan police chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Zaman Mamozay told Pajhwok Afghan News two Taliban fighters were held captive by a rival group over disobedience in Dara Khushki locality.
When the second group tried to set their comrades free, the rival faction opened fire and killed three of them, Mamozay said.
Then the second group’s reinforcements arrived at the scene and killed four rivals, increasing the death toll from the infighting to seven, the police chief said.
The Taliban have so far said nothing regarding the infighting, and residents of the area could not be reached for comment.
