Ghani, Karzai denounce mass killings at US gay club
KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghanihas vehemently denounced a shooting spree that killed dozens of people at a gay nightclub in Florida, the United States.
At least 50 people were killed and 53 wounded in the deadliest shooting in America’s history. The incident happened in the wee hours of Sunday, according to media reports.
"Severely condemn the heinous & unforgivable crime in Orlando. It was a coward act of terror. Praying for all those affected by this tragedy," Ghani tweeted.
The mass killings also drew condemnation from Ghani’s predecessor Hamid Karzai. "We suffer from this, too, daily," the ex-president said of the terrorist attack.
Islam does not forgive violence, according to Karzai, who saw no justification for the killing of innocent civilians."Whatever cause he had, whatever it was wrong for him to do it.
