3 Let militants killed as own rockets explode in Kunar
ASADABAD (Pajhwok): At least three fighters of Pakistan-based Lashkar-i-Taiba (LeT) militant group were killed and another three wounded when their own rocket shells exploded in eastern Kunar province, officials said on Wednesday.
Kunar police chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News the LeT members wanted to fire rockets into Asmar district on Tuesday night. Their target was Godago area but the shells exploded accidently on them, he said, adding all the killed and wounded were Pakistanis.
Separately, a senior Taliban leader was killed in infighting between two rival factions in Ghaziabad district of the province on Tuesday afternoon.
