Helmand’s deputy police chief succumbs to his wounds
LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): The deputy police chief for southern Helmand province, Brig. Gen. Jilani Kharotai, has succumbed to his injures at the National Directorate of Security (NDS) Hospital, an official said on Thursday.
Brig. Gen. Aqa Noor Kintoz, the provincial police head,told Pajhwok Afghan News Kharotai died of deep wounds he had suffered in an explosion in Marja district 10 days back. “He was an experience and talented officer.”
It was because of the courage and bravery demonstrated by Gen. Kharotai that the main road in Marja district was reopened after months of closure, Kintoz acknowledged. The road was blocked by the Taliban in November.
Kintoz termed the killing of Kharotaias a huge loss and said the police officer would be laid to rest after funeral prayers in Lashkargah, the provincial capital.
