Mistaken for his brother, medical student killed in Ghor
FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): A university student has been killed by unidentified gunmen in western Ghor province, an official said on Thursday.
Maj. Sayed Zia, police chief for Dawlatyar district, told Pajhwok Afghan News the student, Abdul Hakim, came under armed men’s attack while performing wudu (ablution) outside his sister’s home in Bariki village on Wednesday midnight.
“Hakim was second year student at the medical faculty of Kabul University. He recently came home on recess,” he said.
But Zia said the target of the armed men was his brother, Nasratullah Nasratyar, head of Neda-i-Zan (Voice of Women) organization. He added Hakim was mistakenly for his brother. He said investigation into the incident was underway.
A relative of the victim, Abdul Rauf Hamidi, said: “Abdul Hakim was invited to his sister’s home. He was performing wudu in Sehri when unidentified gunmen attacked him.”
