13 troops, 52 rebels dead in offensive countrywide
KABUL (Pajhwok): Thirteen Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers and 52 militants, including an Alqaeda felicitator, have killed in security forces operations and raids in different parts of the country in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Friday.
The operations had been conducted in Nangarhar, Paktia, Paktika, Logar, Ghazni, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Farah Heart, Ghor, Baghlan, Jawzjan, Faryab, Kunduz and Helmand provinces, a statement from the MoD said.
The operation aimed at to suppress the Taliban and protect the lives and property of civilians, the statement said.
Thirteen soldiers have also been killed during the raids. It said security forces would render every sacrifice required for the safety of the motherland.
Militants have not yet comment about recent incidents
