Kabul PC member among 5 wounded in blast
KABUL (Pajhwok): Five people, including a provincial council member, were injured in a bomb explosion in capital Kabul, officials said on Monday.
Brig. Gen. Hamayon Aini, 119 police hotline chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the bomb blast targeted Kabul provincial council member Mulavi Attaullah Faizani on his way home in Aqa Ali Shams area in the morning.
He said Faizani was among five people injured in the blast, but he did not identify the other victims.
A provincial council member, Syed Naqibullah Hashimi, said the bomb attack on Faizani took place when he was sitting in his car around 9am. He said the bomb had been placed under a small bridge.
The Taliban on their website claimed responsibility for the attack. The group said Attaullah Faizani and his two bodyguards were wounded in the incident and Faizani’s car was completely destroyed.
