Faryab clash leave 3 dead, 10 wounded
MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Three people including Noor Mohammad, a local uprising commander were killed and 10 others wounded, as a result of clashes between Afghan Local Police (ALP) and local uprising, in the Qaisar district of northwestern Faryab province on Sunday, an official said.
District Chief, Rahmatullah Qaisari, said the clashes took place at around 10:30 this morning, in the bazaar of Bora Ghan locality, the exact number of losses was yet to be ascertained.
Mohammad Tariq, former Qaisar district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the two armed groups belonged to Bora Ghan tribe. One was comprised of the Afghan Local Police (ALP) and the other comprised of local uprising members.
An individual, who wished anonymity, said, local uprising commander Noor Mohammad was among the dead while Sharafuddin, a police officer who was there to mediate was wounded during the clash.
The sources said the two opposing groups had backing of Nizamuddin, the Qaisar district police chief and the other group was supported by Fathullah Qaisari, member of the Wolesi Jirga.
