Bomb targeting official kills 4 ANA troops in Kandahar
KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): The Khakrez district chief survived a roadside bomb attack that killed four Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers in southern Kandahar province on Saturday.
Kandahar police chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Raziq told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in the limits of Khakrez district on Saturday noon.
He said the Khakrez district chief, Haji Mir Hamza, was on his way to Kandahar city, the provincial capital, along with security forces when his car hit a roadside bomb.
He said the official survived the blast but four ANA soldiers were killed and three others wounded.
He said an investigation into the incident had been launched. However, insurgents have not yet commented on the incident.
