Eid to be celebrated on Wednesday, SC announces
KABUL (Pajhwok): Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday, as the moon could not be sighted on Tuesday evening, the Supreme Court announced.
Earlier in the day, there were rumours the festival might be celebrated on Tuesday, but Muslim’s announcement put them to rest.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) also indicated there was a chance of sighting the Shawwal moon on Tuesday.
“The new moon will born on crossing conjunction point at 16-01 Pakistan standard time on July 04,” an official of the Met office was quoted as saying by APP.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee would meet at Aiwan-i-Auqaf in Lahore on Tuesday evening for sighting the crescent.
