ALP commander killed in Paktia roadside bombing
GARDEZ (Pajhwok): A local police commander was killed in a roadside bombing in southeastern Paktia province on Monday, an official said.
Paktia police chief Brig. Gen. Qadir Gul Zadran told Pajhwok Afghan News the ALP commander, Mer Aslam Dorandesh, for Ahmadabad district came under attack while travelling from one place to another.
The blast took place at 11am, killing Dorandesh, injuring one of his guards and destroying his vehicle, the police chief said.
He said no one had been arrested in connection with the incident but investigations were underway.
Naqibullah, a resident of the area, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Mer Aslam was injured in the blast and succumbed to his wounds in hospital.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack.
