Lawmaker’s security guard killed in rebel attack
MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): A security guard of a lawmaker representing Kuchi tribe in the lower house of parliament has been killed by insurgents in central Kapisa province, an official said on Monday.
The incident took place in Kohistan-2 district of the province last night, the provincial government spokesman, Qais Qaderi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
MP Habib Afghan’s guard, Jamil, came under attack from insurgents in the Karezak area. Jamil was killed and his brother was wounded in the attack.
In retaliatory firing, a rebel commander, Abdullah, was also killed. Qaderi said Abdullah had been involved in bomb blasts in Kohistan-2 and central parts of Kapisa over the past 12 years.
Some time ago, a security guard with another lawmaker from Kapisa Haji Iqabal Safi was also killed in a gun attack.
