GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A girl has succumbed to her wounds in hospital and five other people, including four children, were wounded in a landmine explosion in the Andar district of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Sunday.

A man, his three daughters and two sons, who were travelling in a tractor to their farms, were injured when their vehicle struck the landmine.
Mohammad Qasim Desiwal, the district’s administrative head, confirmed the incident and said the injured had been evacuated to central and district hospitals. “Of the three girls later succumbed to her wounds, while another was referred to a Kabul hospital.”
Local officials blamed the Taliban militants for planting landmines on roads, killing and maiming innocent civilians. The Taliban, however, have not yet commented on the incident.
