9 schools get surrounding walls in Logar
PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Education officials on Monday said nine schools constructed with surrounding walls in central Logar province.
Provincial education department spokesman, Mohammad Shapoor Arab told Pajhwok Afghan News that the schools got the facility included Khwaja Angor, Khwaja Beland, Kharoti, Malaki, Paspachak, Merak, Pengram, Nawshahr and Karmaba.
“These schools did not have surround walls before and students and teachers did not feel secure, therefore there was a serious need for the construction of surrounding walls,” he said.
The construction process of the walls cost 17 million Afghanis and paid by the World Bank, he said, adding the construction of surrounding walls for another six schools was underway.
The education department has plan to provide the facility to 40 more schools Logar up to the end of current year, Arab said.
A teacher of Pengram Secondary School, Sayed baiqra was happy about the facility and said absence of the walls left them under security threat beside the students were using the gap to flee.
