Jul 21, 2016 - 11:53

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Afghan government would provide free houses or plots to all refugees on returning to their homeland, Minister of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) Sayed Hossein Alimi Balkhi has promised on Wednesday.

He also called for reinvigorated efforts to create environmentinfo-icon conducive to the voluntary repatriation and sustainable reintegration in Afghanistaninfo-icon, including improved access to basic services and job opportunities.

Addressing a Grand Jirgainfo-icon of registered refugees, organised by the Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (Safron) in Islamabad, he said an action plan would be finalised by early September.

Federal Minister for Safron Abdul Qadir Baloch reaffirmed Pakistaninfo-icon’s commitment to working closely with Afghanistan and UNHCR to ensure sustainable voluntary returns in safety and dignity.

Baloch urged the Afghanistan government to work on concrete plans for receiving and reintegrating Afghan returnees in view of the implementation of the enhanced voluntary repatriation and reintegration grant.
