ALP official, 6 civilians injured in Laghman bomb attack
MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): Seven people, mostly civilians, were injured on Friday when a magnetic bomb affixed to a local police van went off in the Alishing district of eastern Laghman province, an official said.
The blast took place in Najaran area of the district at about 11am, the governor’s spokesman, Sarhadi Zwak, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the bomb had been attached to the local police pick up vehicle and it expoded in Najaran area, injuring one local policeman and six civilians.
He said four of the injured persons had been discharged from hospital after treatment and the other three remained hospitalized.
A resident of the area where the blast took place, Zamaryal, told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast also damaged the police vehicle and caused casualties, but he had no information about the number of casualties.
There was no claim of responsibility for the blast.
