Operations in 10 provinces leave 42 militants dead
KABUL (Pajhwok): Forty-two militants, including Daesh affiliates, have been killed during security forces’ operations in 10 provinces since yesterday, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Friday.
The operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktika, Maidan Wardak, Herat, Samangan, Jawzjan, Takhar, Kunduz and Helmand provinces, the MoD said in a statement.
It said the dead included six Islamic State fighters. Several other militants were wounded during the operations and their weapons and ammunition destroyed, the statement said.
The MoD said the Afghan security forces were making efforts round-the-clock to maintain security across the country.
No group has come forward to comment on the operations.
