NSC orders assistance to rally attack victims’ families
KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Security Council (NSC) on Sunday directed the authorities concerned to provide needed support and assistance to the families of those who lost their loved ones and those injured in yesterday’s attack on a rally in Kabul.
Chaired by President Ashraf Ghani, it was a follow up meeting after yesterday’s special meeting about the deadliest attack in Kabul left at least 80 dead and hundreds wounded. A statement from the Presidential Palace said the NSC meeting once again strongly condemned the attack on a peaceful demonstration.
The meeting participants prayed for those died and wished early recovery for those wounded in the twin blasts.
The authorities concerned were issued directives about treatment of the injured, burial of the deceased and assistance to the bereaved families, the statement said.
The defence and interior ministers presented their reports about the situation in Kabul, Helmand, Uruzgan, Kandahar, Kunduz, Sar-i-Pul, Faryab, Samangan, Baghlan and Ghor provinces.
The NSC thanked the brave Afghan security and defence forces for their untiring efforts to protect the country’s soil and people’s lives.
