Would-be suicide bomber detained in Logar, claims NDS
KABUL (Pajhwok): A would-be suicide bomber has been arrested by intelligence agents in the Khoshi district of central Logar province, a statement from the spy service said on Tuesday.
The bomber was detained after a clash in Karizono area of the district. But the National Directorate of Security (NDS) did not say the arrest was made. The bomber, Bakhtullah, has confessed his crime.
The NDS statement added: “This bomber belongs to the Haqqani Network and received military training in Pakistan’s northwestern city of Peshawar. He was trained on suicide bombing in Miranshah by Punjabis before being sent to Afghanistan.”
He said the bomber planned to carry out an attack on a girls’ school in the Chahar Asiab district of Kabul. But Logar officials were unaware of the detention. The Haqqani Network has not yet commented on the issue.
