Teenage girl found stabled to death in Faryab
MAIMANA (Pajhwok): An 18-year- old girl has been found stabbed to death in her home in the Qaisar district of northwestern Faryab province, an official said on Sunday.
Provincial police spokesman Abdul Karim Yorish told Pajhwok Afghan News the woman, Aqelah, had been stabbed to death with a knife by unidentified persons in Yangitash area.
The perpetrators fled the scene taking advantage of darkness at night but police had launched a manhunt for them, the police spokesman said.
A resident of the area, who wished to go unnamed, said the girl had been living with her step-mother. She was a student of class 11, she was engaged and her fiancé is in Iran for work.
The incident comes two days after another girl, a university student, was killed in Gozar Baloch area of Maimana, the provincial capital.
The girl had gone with her cousin to Sabz area, but unknown people caught them and handed them over to police, said residents of the area, who declined to be named.
When her parents were informed about the issue, they brought the girl back home, but she ate something poisonous or someone fed her the poison.
