KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A top Saudi diplomat has promised all-out support for the Afghan-led reconciliation process and efforts to further boost bilateral relations.

Ambassador Mesfer Al-Ghaseb met President’s Special Representative on Reform and Good Governance Ahmad Zia Massoud in Kabul late on Monday.

A government statement said they discussed issues of mutual interest, including security in Afghanistaninfo-icon and the Muslim worldinfo-icon, emergence of ISIS and extremism.

The ambassador reaffirmed Saudi commitment to bolsteringlinks with Afghanistan in different spheres, including the good governance. Security in Afghanistan was in the interest of the region and the world, he commented.

Al-Ghasebadded his countrywas willing to cooperate with Afghanistan in areas including the justice sector, peace process and elimination of terrorist groups.

Massoud blamed the Talibaninfo-icon and other terrorist networks for defaming Islam for their petty personal interests. It was the duty of Muslims to jointly fight against terrorism and extremism, he stressed.
