Highway commander among 5 killed in blast
Salim Saleh, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News Maj. Syed Sattar Hashimi was killed in a bomb blast late on Friday when he was going from Azra district to Kabul.
“The bomb was planted by Taliban in the Omar village of Khak-i-Jabbar district,” he said, adding that the highway was insecure.
Logar provincial council head, Qaribullah Sadat, confirmed the incident and blamed the Taliban for the bomb attack.
However, the Taliban have not yet commented on the incident so far.
Four days ago, six civilians including a woman were killed in a roadside bombing on the highway.
