SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Police have arrested a 50-year-old man after his daughter accused him of sexually attacking her in Aqcha district of northern Jawzjan province.

Col. Abdul Hafiz Khashi, Jawzjan deputy police chief, said the man was a road worker whose daughter, 14, had accused him of raping her.

“We, according to the girl’s allegation, detained her father and the case is being prosecuted. The man has six sons and we kept the forensic department in the loop to divulge details of the incident.”

Habibullah, a criminal investigation department official at the police headquarters, said: “After the girl was examined by doctors, they found her virgin as her father didn’t have the ability to completely commit sexual intercourse but it was an act of adultery. “

The girl said it was due to her resistance that didn’t let her father completely commit the act of adultery with her.

Habibullah said the mother of the girl had told police her spouse had been subjecting her to anal sex since their marriage.

Residents of Shiberghan, the provincial capital, in reaction to the incident, said the man should be publicly hanged to death.

Ghulam Sakhi, a resident of Shiberghan, said: “Such people should not live and this act was beyond human wisdom, how a father can commit adultery with her daughter.” He asked government authorities to publicly hang the man to death so it could be a lesson for others.

Sikandar Pacha, another resident, said such act of indecency was not justified by any humanitarian law. Such acts wouldn’t reduce until their perpetrators were publicly prosecuted.
