Ghor’s deputy police chief succumbs to injuries
FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): The deputy police chief for western Ghor province succumbed to his wounds at a military hospital in western Herat province on Tuesday, an official said.
Police chief Brig. Gen. Ghulam Mustafa Mohseni told Pajhwok Afghan News Col. Mohammad Zaman Azeemisuffered wounds last Thursday during a clash in Ghor and was transferred to Herat for treatment. Azeemi died of his deep wounds this afternoon.
Lal Bahar Frotan, a former jihadi commander and relative of the police officer, said Azeemi had been Jamiat-i-Islami’s famous commander during jihad in Ghor. He served in different positions in the police department after the ouster of the Taliban regime.
