Kidnapper awarded death sentence in Nangarhar
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A primary court in eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday sentenced a man to death over kidnapping charges, the governor’s house said on Tuesday.
The punishment was awarded during an open hearing in line with the court’s internal and external security charge sheet, the government’s house said in a statement.
Judges Mufti Mohammad Wazir and Fazal Haq Qazawatmand co-chaired the court session in which the defence lawyer presented his arguments in the defence of his client.
After hearing from all the sides, the court finally awarded capital punishment to the kidnapper in line with article 395 of the criminal law.
The verdict comes amid increasing incidents of kidnapping in Nangarhar.
