Child wounded as blast rips through ANA officer’s vehicle
KABUL (Pajhwok): A child was wounded on Thursday when a magnetic bomb attached to an army officer’s vehicle went off capital Kabul, an official said.
Brig. Gen. Faridon Obaidi, Kabul crime branch police chief, told reporters at the scene that the blast took place at around 2:00pm in the traffic square area in the limits of 4th municipal district.
He said three people including a child were sitting in the vehicle and only the child was wounded in the blast, which was being investigated.
But earlier a security official, who wished to go unnamed, said the explosion ripped through the vehicle of a former secretary to late Vice President Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim.
Ainullah, a shopkeeper in the area, said: “We were busy in our work when we heard a powerful explosion. Later we saw a woman, a child and another person coming out of the vehicle.”
