ASADABAD (Pajhwok): At least 30 houses have been destroyed and hundreds of acres of farmland washed away by recent rains-induced floods in eastern Kunar province, an official said on Sunday.

Ghulam Ali Subat, provincial Natural Disasters Management Authority head, told Pajhwok Afghan News the floods played havoc during the past few days in Khas Kunar and Manogi districts, damaging 29 homes and hundreds of acres farmland.

He added the floods destroyed an 800 meters portion of road, a 400 meters canal, a poultry form and five shops. Media will be shared latest information about the damage upon return of the investigation teams sent to the affected area, he said.

Subat said the affected families would be financially supported.
