Commander among 11 ANA troops surrender to Taliban
SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): Eleven Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers, including their commander, have surrendered to the Taliban in the Sozma Qala district of northern Sar-i-Pul province, an official said on Sunday.
Governor Mohammad Zahir Wahdat told Pajhwok Afghan News Commander Shah Wali, in-charge of ANA unit in Kor-Khab locality developed links with his father who was the Taliban’s shadow district chief for Takhar’s Dasht-i-Qala district.
He said the commander and another soldiers shifted their fellow ANA troops to Kohistanat district and handed them over to the Taliban.
Taliban, however, rejected Wahdat claimed and said the group captured ANA soldiers and their commander.
