No suspension of flights, tax tiff resolved: Safi Airways
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Safi Airways on Tuesday announced its flights would not be suspended, saying its tax dispute with Afghan Civil Aviation Authority (ACCA) had been resolved.
Earlier in the week, the Ministry of Finance of Afghanistan decided to suspend Safi Airways operations from September 6 on the domestic routes and September 8 on international routes.
Safi Airways International Affairs Manager Farid Nazarisaid: “An agreement was reached today by the airline with the respective authorities on the airline making payment in installments.”
While commending support from clients and partners, he said the airlineremained committed to ensure there would not be any flight interruption.Safi Airways, he added, would maintain uncompromising international safety standards.
It was the first Afghan carrier to operate in compliance with EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) requirements and certified as complying with the strict IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit).
