2 killed as Taliban-fired mortars hit Laghman houses
MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): Two civilians were killed after mortars allegedly fired by Taliban militants hit a house in eastern Laghman province on Saturday, an official said.
Sarhadi Zwak, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Bad-i-Abad locality of Alingar district shortly after 11am.
He said a man and a woman were killed and a second woman was injured in the incident.
He said first all the three were injured, but later two of them succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
With no claim of responsibility for the attack, the gubernatorial spokesman said the rebels fired several mortars that hit many houses in the area.
