Eidul Adha: HPC urges rebels to sheathe swords
In a statement, the HPC, a government body tasked with negotiating peace with militant groups, congratulated all Muslims around the world on celebrating the upcoming Eid.
The body asked the armed rebels to stop their operations in a show of respect to the religious festival. The insurgents were also asked to return to their homeland with the spirit of accepting each other and cohesion.
The HPC said Eidul Adha was being celebrated at a time when a number of Muslim countries faced various problems and challenges and Afghanistan, one of the Islamic countries, was also struggling with different problems on political, social and security fronts due to interference of specific circles.
“As a result of this interference, our Muslim nation daily gives sacrifices. Without any doubt, such acts not only have no justification in Shariah but are also causing irreparable human and material losses to our countrymen,” the statement said.
The HPC said the people of Afghanistan needed peace more than ever, calling on all parties to the conflict to end the use of violence and resolve all issues through talks because it were the common people of Afghanistan who bore the brunt of the situation.
