Faryab roadside explosion claims lives of 4 ANA soldiers
MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Four Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers have been killed and three others wounded in roadside explosion on Qaisar-Almar road in northwestern Faryab province, an official said on Saturday.
Rahmatullah Qaisari, administrative chief for Qaisar district said the landmine explosion struck ANA soldiers vehicle in the Kanjo locality.
Police Spokesman Abdul Karim Yourash confirmed the incident and causalities but did not provide more details.
But spokesman for 209th Saheen Military Corps was unaware of the incident and said he had no information about the explosion.
An eyewitness, who wished to go unnamed, said heavy fighting erupted between security forces and militants after the roadside explosion struck ANA vehicle and the Qaisar-Almar highway was blocked for one hour. ANA vehicle was burned completely.
