MoI bans sale, purchase of toy guns, fireworks
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Sunday said selling and buying plastic toy guns and firecrackers was banned and legal action would be taken against violators.
In a statement, the ministry said security forces have been directed to strictly prevent the sale and purchase of harmful toy guns and firecrackers.
The statement said some toy guns resulted in injuries to children and the use of firecrackers could provide criminals an opportunity to take advantage.
The Interior Ministry urged the countrymen, particularly the residents of Kabul city, to avoid things that could interrupt security or cause concern among people.
The ministry urged parents to keep their children away from toy guns and asked shopkeepers not to sell toy guns and firecrackers, otherwise police would take legal action against them.
The MoI also called on civil society groups, media outlets and other relevant authorities to help encourage children not to use toy guns.
