Kabul-Jalalabad highway reopened after hours of closure
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Kabul-Jalalabad highway was reopened for small traffic on Wednesday, an official said.
The busy highway was blocked for traffic after a rock sliding in the Wreshmin Tangi locality caused by heavy rainfall late on Tuesday.
The highway could reopened for small vehicles after hard efforts of Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers team and officials from the Laghman Public Works Department, said Umar Zwak, the governor’s spokesman.
Khalid Muslim, a passenger traveling on the highway said the road could be reopened only for small vehicles.
A month back the vital highway was also blocked due to rock sliding for few hours.
