President off to India on 2-day official visit
KABUL (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the head of a high level delegation has left Kabul for two-day official visit to India, a statement from Presidential Palace said on Wednesday.
During the tripe, the president would hold separate meetings with Indian Prime Minister Nanedra Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee and other officials and discuss bilateral issues ranging from security, trade and economy. President Ghani is visiting Indian on the formal invitation of Prime Minister Modi.
Ghani would be meeting Indian businessmen, Afghan students who had been studying in different Indian universities.
During the trip the president is scheduled to address retired generals, ambassadors, experts, analysts and students on different issues particularly terrorism and extremism.
Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabani, National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar, Finance Minister Eklil Hakimi, Economy Minister Abdul Sattar Murad and other cabinet members accompanied the president on this trip.
