Death toll from Mohmand mosque blast rises to 30
The explosion took place in the Ambar area of Mohmand Agency on Friday afternoon when people were leaving the mosque after Juma prayers. Twenty-four people were killed and over 20 others wounded on the spot.
However, medics on Saturday said the death toll had soared to 30 as a number of wounded people succumbed to their injuries at hospitals. They said the number of injured had also increased to 30.
Eyewitnesses said the suicide bomber detonated his explosives in the front row of worshippers.Some local media reported the Pakistan Army had launched a clearing operation in the area.
