‘Fake’ messages sent from Atmar’s email address
KABUL (Pajhwok): ‘Fake’ messages have been sent to several addresses from the email address of National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar, an official said on Sunday.
National Security Council (NSC) spokesman Tawab Ghorzang on his Facebook page wrote that they rejected emails sent to various addresses from Atmar’s account and said it was a conspiracy of foreign intelligence networks.
He said the aim of the plot was to create misunderstanding and distrust in the government leadership and mislead people’s mind. He urged the people of the country not to believe in such fake emails.
Ghorzang said cyber security teams had launched their work to detect the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
Telecommunications and Information Ministry spokesman Yasin Samim confirmed the issue which he said erupted two days ago. He said the IT ministry had launched a joint probe with the NSC to find the perpetrators.
