11 civilians injured in Kapisa explosion

MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): 11 civilians were wounded in a bomb explosion in central Kapisa province on Monday morning, an official said.

Police Spokesman, Naqibullah Amini, told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast took place in Jamal Agha area of Kohistan-2 district at around 8am.

He said, five shopkeepers wounded in the explosion were shifted to hospital by police. No arrest has been made so far in connection with the bombing.

Abdulhai, a resident of the area, said blast happened bang in the middle of the Jamal Agha Bazaar. He added 11 civilians were wounded in the blast.

He said the explosives had been attached to a motorcycle and detonated with a remotely-controlled device. After the blast, the bazaar was closed.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
